G.F. Michelsen

Novels

G.F. Michelsen has published twelve novels and written a half dozen more. The novels’ characters, published or unpublished, are living people clamoring to bust out of the page and printer’s ink and foist some ruckus on the world. The stories’ backgrounds are varied: the long slide downward of commercial fishing in New England; a Central American hostage crisis; the political disappearance of an opponent of Alexander Hamilton’s in Federalist-era New York; a forgotten, sun-smacked port on the East African coast; a village on Cape Cod in the bleakness of off-season. Each of the four links below offers entry into one of these worlds, time spent with some of these people.
